David Rippin (LRPS)

I am primarily a landscape photographer, and I am a Licentiate of The Royal Photographic Society. My work has been recognised through being placed in, or having won, a number of photographic competitions. This includes having been a finalist/shortlisted/commended in: Wildlife Photographer of the Year (2015), Travel Photographer of the Year (2015 and 2017), Outdoor Photographer of the Year (2017), Environmental Photographer of the Year (2018), Landscape Photographer of the Year (2020), Scottish Landscape Photographer of the Year (2021), the International Garden Photographer of the Year (2023) and the Earth Photo Competition (2019, 2021, 2022).

My primary photographic passions are for mountainous environments and woodlands. Mountain photography is probably my first love and has arisen from having been a climber and mountaineer for many years. Woodland photography has come to me more recently, but it is something I relish. I very much enjoy the challenge of composing something ordered out of the chaos often found on first encountering a woodland.

As well as mountains and forests, you will also find some images on my website of people. However, often these images show individuals as small, distant figures. Finally, you will also find here images of the living world… of other plants and animals.

Please browse around and if you have any feedback, please get in touch.  If you have any comments or are interested in purchasing prints of any of my photographs, please email me at: dmrippin @ gmail dot com to discuss further.  You can also follow me on Twitter and Instagram at @dmrippin. Finally, this is an ongoing project, so please check back on a regular basis for new images.

Thanks for your interest.
